Origin
* Stemona sessilifolia: Shandong, Henan, Changjiang area, Fujian.
* Stemona japonica: North, South and China's central regions.
* Stemona tuberosa: bordering on Changjiang river, Hainan Island.;
Preparation
The drug is collected in spring and autumn, removed from rootlet, washed clean, treated with boiling water for a moment or steamed until the centre of the cut surface is devoid of a white core, dried in the sun, and cut into sticks for use.
The root can also be processed with honey.;
